Iggy Azalea & Anitta’s “Switch” Has Been Delayed
Well, this is a bummer! Just when you thought Iggy Azalea’s Digital Distortion era was back on track, the rapper has hit another snag. She fired up SnapChat over the weekend to let fans know that “Switch” won’t drop on May 12 after all. “[It] will not be released on May 12, guys,” the 26-year-old wrote. “Sorry! I see everyone is excited, just wanted to clarify that for you… don’t want you counting down to a day where nothing happens.” Iggy even followed that up with an unusually self-aware admission. (She’s learning!)
“I’ve prematurely announced dates in the past that have changed and I’m doing my best to avoid that.” However, there is a glimmer of hope. Iggy has been confirmed as a performer at iHeartRadio’s Much Music Awards on June 18. Could this be the live debut of “Switch,” which features Brazilian superstar Anitta? It would also make a lot of sense to drop the song on Friday, June 16 and then perform it two days later to maximize its impact. Check out the Aussie hitmaker’s social media updates below.
