Selena Gomez's "Bad Liar" Is Epic
And she's back! Selena Gomez's "Bad Liar" is a Song Of The Summer contender.

Sexy, smart, and ahead of the curve music is on the way! Selena Gomez just dropped a serious Song Of The Summer contender with her new single “Bad Liar,” and frequent co-writer Justin Tranter said that the seductive bop is just a taste of things to come. Tranter worked with Gomez, Julia Michaels, and Ian Kirkpatrick on the track, which samples the left-of-center bassline from the Talking Heads’ 1977 hit “Psycho Killer,” and he reflected on the writing process in an interview with Variety.

Tranter and Michaels worked with the “Same Old Love” songstress to craft the majority of 2015’s Revival, and they’ve been back at work in the studio honing her latest hits. He said that Michaels came up with the idea of building “Bad Liar” from the Talking Heads’ iconic track, and that things just seemed to come together from there. “The lyrics are really cool and descriptive about when you first start having feelings for someone, but don’t want to admit it,” he said, but he credits the track’s success to the original beat. “Bad Liar” even got the seal of approval from the Talking Heads’ frontman David Byrne and the rest of the band, a sign that it’s a sure hit in the making.

Fans of Revival are in for a treat as Selena gears up to release her third solo studio album, which Tranter said will serve as a perfect follow up to the pop princess’s last effort. “Selena is where she always is, ahead of the fucking curve,” he said. “The music is very sexy, very smart and right where we left off last time.” Sounds like a promise from one of pop’s most in-demand writers.
