Zayn Malik, Madonna, Selena Gomez & More Take Selfies For ‘Interview’ Magazine: 10 Photos
Our generation feeds off of social media and wanting to be Insta-famous, so it’s natural that publications are using the current “Look at me!” obsession as influence for their magazines. Take Interview for example, whose September issue is appropriately titled “#ME.”
The magazine gathered some of the most influential names in pop culture (Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Zayn Malik, Jennifer Lopez and — of course — Miley Cyrus) to show off their best selfies. Madge is an “Unapologetic Bitch” as she rocks no makeup, while J. Lo goes glam and the former One Direction star shows off his tatted pecs.

Editor-in-Chief Keith Pollock explained the concept behind the portraits to US Weekly: “We invited each subject to use this opportunity to create something powerful and personal: the utmost expression of themselves,”We definitely encouraged them to push the limits, but we weren’t interested in steering them in any way. Our aim was to allow them to create an image that reflects the way the subjects see themselves. And the way they want to be seen.”
