Nicki Minaj Reunites With Lil Wayne & Ariana Grande This Week

Nicki Minaj opened up the flood gates this morning. The 35-year-old has been keeping her forthcoming LP Queen under wraps since announcing the project at the Met Gala last month. We have heard the dual lead singles “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz,” but otherwise, the remainder of the project has been shrouded in mystery. That changed a bit last week when the rap legend unveiled the scintillating cover and confirmed the album’s August 10 release date. Today (June 11), she made things even more exciting by confirming plans to co-headline a world tour with Future, linking up with Lil Wayne on “Rich Sex” and announcing the imminent release of another Ariana Grande collaboration called “Bed.”

Fans expected Nicki to reunite with her Young Money crew for at least one track on Queen, so the Lil Wayne feature is not a total surprise. Over a forbidding beat the duo drop some raunchy verses. “Rich Sex” should find plenty of love on the charts, but it is the Ari duet that pop fans are most excited for. The “Side To Side” collaborators are already set to reunite on Ari’s second Sweetener single, “The Light Is Coming” next week. They all but confirmed that they had another track in the works on Twitter last week. Now, it has been confirmed that “Bed” will drop this Thursday (June 14). Based on the cover Nicki uploaded, it looks like they will have another sexy bop in the works. Considering their winning track record, it would not be surprising if the pair have two serious Song of the Summer contenders on their hands in the next few weeks.
