Boy George went from the courthouse to the jailhouse today after being sentenced to 15 months in prison for the false imprisonment charge he was convicted of in December. As you might remember, George tied up a male escort in his apartment and beat him for tampering with George’s laptop. In a somewhat suspicious legal tactic, George’s legal representation decided to not present evidence in his defense, which is probably something he might end up reconsidering over the next year and a quarterf. To remember happier times, the pop up video for Culture Club’s “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?” and Fred Armisen’s impression of George are below the cut.
Boy George has claimed all of his human sex toys are free to come and go as they please and plead not guilty to that nasty business last year where a male “model” claimed the singer kept him imprisoned in a London basement with the aid of chains. More »
George was nabbed by authorities yesterday in London for the Rick Jamesian crime of imprisoning a gentleman against his will for purposes that probably can’t be discussed in polite society. Let’s see what the BBC has to say: “Singer and DJ Boy George has been charged with the false imprisonment of a 28-year-old man, police have said. The offence is alleged to have taken place at the 47-year-old’s home in Ravey Street, Hackney, east London on 28 April.” Pretty dry. But U.K. tabloid The Sun come through in a purple prose pinch, as per usual.
