Glee returned to New York City’s Central Park last night— only this time it’s for Fox’s 2011 upfronts. On hand to represent the hit musical show at the networks fall lineup were Cory Monteith, Chord Overstreet — who, with their glasses and sharp suits, looked more like they were representing AMC’s Mad Men — and Sting’s co-pilot Matthew Morrison. Yesterday, we saw Lea Michele and Chris Colfer take over New York’s midtown (in what we can only assume was a tribute to TV’s Mary and Rhoda). And today the Glee cast has moved on to Central Park for their on location shoot. In addition to the musical show’s Triple Threat in residence, among those spotted filming were Dianna Agron, Chord Overstreet, Kevin McHale, Harry Shum Jr. and Cory Monteith. It’s pretty hard to miss Lea Michele as Glee shoots on location in NYC today. The Triple Threat‘s 70s-inspired look seems to be an homage to Marlo Thomas’ sitcom That Girl or the actress is reenacting the opening credits to the Mary Tyler Moore Show — will Chris Colfer be playing Rhoda?! Either way, with hype building from Cory Monteith’s tweet: “…the New York mashup we are doing today will probably make your head explode,” we can’t help but imagine a pairing of “Love Is All Around” and Weezer’s “Buddy Holly” — or will it be “That Girl” and Madonna’s “Who’s That Girl?” More »
