Sure, when a Web site makes a big stink about counting down a Greatest Whatever Of Ever List, there’s bound to be some quibbling; these sorts of lists, of course, were pretty much designed to hold up weakly premised cable clip shows and stoke lots of link-assisted commenter arguing from the Internet’s various peanut galleries. But MTV UK’s search for the Greatest Ever Album not only has a distinct bias toward albums hyped by the NME over the past nine years and the potential to really fire up older music-fan types by including two albums by Oasis and none by Blur in its 26-album shortlist, it has a curious No. 2 behind Thriller:
