Dinosaur Jr. have added a slew of fall dates in the U.S. and Canada to their 2009 tour supporting their just-released album Farm. I think I still have my purple “Cow” shirt, which I will definitely wear to their August Central Park SummerStage date (it’s free!!) if I can find it. Full roster of dates after the jump. More »

Dinosaur Jr’s’ video for “Over It,” shot during some downtime on their tour this spring, is a sweet spin on the old-school “skateboard wipeout” video, one in which lead Dinosaur J Mascis even gets to show off one of the skateboard decks crafted in his band’s honor. (The matching kicks are a nice touch, too.) Somehow I missed this song, which appears on the band’s forthcoming album Farm, until this morning, and I am pretty annoyed with myself for doing so, as it has provided me a nice little bit of Adidas in my proverbial ass, thanks in large part to the heroic drumming of the band’s skinsman, Murph. After the jump, we give you the lowdown on the latest albums from Ne-Yo, Dinosaur Jr, Corbin Bleu, and Miranda Lambert, as well as the Spider-Man 3 soundtrack.
When we were rooting around earlier for songs from Dinosaur Jr’s upcoming Beyond, we somehow missed the fact that *Sixeyes posted the album-opening “Almost Ready” last week–right around the same time that Pitchfork dropped an MP3 of “We’re Not Alone.” More »

Tom Eaton’s guest post earlier this week got us thinking about animated videos from years gone by, and we kept coming back to our favorite Claymation video, which accompanied “The Wagon” by Dinosaur Jr. Its sloppy charm fit the song’s guitar-chaos to a T, even if it didn’t boast any strutting… More »
