One glance at the bill for this year’s V Festival, and it’s easy to see how the annual double venue music spectacular sold out in a mere 90 minutes. From Elly Jackson’s giant black druid-esque hood, to Kate Nash‘s fringed unitard, the theme for the festival’s second day seemed to be “Outrageous Outfits”. None of the artists, however, could compare to Goldfrapp‘s bizarre —but wonderful—jacket that looked as though it was made from discarded VHS tapes. Aussie band The Temper Trap were all warmed up by the time their Sunday set at Lollapalooza rolled around. The Conditions quartet rocked Chi-town with “Drum Song”, “Science Of Fear”, and “Fader”, before tearing into a rip roaring performance of their mega hit “Sweet Disposition”. Last night, Buzzmedia (the folks who allow us to live out our pop music obsession every day) kicked off the Lollapalooza party early with a private soiree at Chicago’s Angels & Kings, which provided the perfect backdrop for a set from Aussie rockers The Temper Trap. The virtuosic band behind hit “Sweet Disposition” rocked a packed crowd of over 200 fans with a taste of what to expect this Sunday from their first ever Lolla set. Our favorite drink of the night? The Idolator Pop Fizz, of course.
