third_eye_blindRob Tannenbaum’s “defense” of the newly resurgent Third Eye Blind for New York is certainly fun reading, but what takes it to the next level are the comments. I won’t say more for fear of spoiling, but I will say that it’s probably only a matter of time before Stephan Jenkins himself (of whom Tannenbaum writes “Hooks seem to flow out of him as naturally as phlegm comes out of a baby”) shows up to take on all comers. evolutionSaturday’s “surprise guest” at the two-day parking-lot festival known as the Bamboozle was introduced with the three words “Don’t,” “Stop,” and “Believin’,” and from my vantage point in the crowd–which rendered the men muscling through four of Journey’s hits onstage into something resembling very animated Berzerk robots–I thought that I was actually watching the San Francisco band collect a big, yet sorta-strange, paycheck. (Even bands who are thought of by most people these days as ’90s one-hit wonders and whose frontmen take to the comments sections of blogs in order to disabuse those notions.) Unfortunately, there’s no new version of “Semi-Charmed Life” to come out of Hova’s epiphany, but we’ll give it time–in the meantime, check what he had to say after the jump. More »
