Nick Jonas' 'Last Year': Album Review
The latest by Nick Jonas is inspired by a terrible breakup. How did the music turn out?

Christina Grimmie, YouTube sensation-turned The Voice finalist, was shot and killed June 10 in Orlando. She was 22.

Police say that Christina was signing autographs after her concert with pop-punk band Before You Exit at Plaza Live Theater, when a man walked up to her and shot her. Christina’s brother tackled the man, before the suspect shot himself. When news broke that Christina was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, #PrayforChristina started trending on Twitter. Unfortunately, she died five hours after the incident due to injuries.

Christina had a loyal fanbase before she was on national TV, thanks to her pop covers posted to YouTube. (To date, she has 3.2 million subscribers.) When she competed on The Voice‘s sixth season, though, she bowled over the judges with her live renditions of Miley Cyrus“Wrecking Ball” and Drake‘s “Hold On We’re Going Home.” When her coach Adam Levine‘s mentor Graham Nash stopped by The Voice to watch her sing, he said he was “amazed at the range and the control and the depth of her voice.”

While Christina placed third on The Voice, the fan favorite went on to open for the Jonas Brothers and Selena Gomez. She was to tour with Before You Exit for two more dates, June 15 in San Francisco and June 17 in West Hollywood.
