Troye Sivan will make an on-screen appearance in Boy Erased when it hits theaters this November. The LGBT coming-of-age story is inspired by Garrard Conley’s memoir of the same name and stars Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman. Today (July 17), we got our first taste of the emotional project with the unveiling of its official trailer. We also learned that the 23-year-old has contributed an original song called “Revelation” to the soundtrack. The track sees him working with frequent collaborator Leland and Jónsi, and it sounds like a true tear-jerker. On Twitter, Leland opened up about the opportunity and what it meant to him. “This story could not have hit any closer to home and how I was raised. I can’t even watch the trailer without crying,” he wrote. “Co-writing “Revelation” for @BoyErased with @troyesivan & @iamjonsi is such an honor. I hope this helps.”

The song appears in the trailer (as does the instrumental for “The Good Side”), and it sounds like the perfect fit for the project. “You’re a revelation. Won’t you liberate me now,” Troye croons over soulful strings. Hopefully we will get to hear the project in full sometime before the film’s November release. This marks the second new song the hitmaker has contributed to a film soundtrack this year. Back in March his Jack Antonoff-produced “Strawberries & Cigarettes” landed on the soundtrack for Love, Simon. Also, “My My My!,” the euphoric lead single to his new album, Bloom, made an appearance in the second season for Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. That’s not all that he has been up to today, though.

The “Bloom” superstar also announced the imminent release of his “Dance To This” video. He rolled out the Ariana Grande-assisted slow-burner last month to rave reviews but held off on dropping the accompanying visual. That may be because his collaborator has kept busy with a slew of projects of her own. However, it is now scheduled to drop Thursday (July 19) at 9 am PT. He took to Twitter early this morning to announce the release and to share a short teaser. In it he rocks a lilac suit and appears to prepare to perform the anthem for a crowd while Ari looks on. We don’t know much yet, but it looks like it may be a blockbuster. Check out the Boy Erased trailer to hear a snippet of “Revelation” and watch the “Dance To This” trailer below!
