The Weeknd dances on his own grave.

The Weeknd is currently experiencing the life of a pop star since the release of his sophomore Beauty Behind The Madness album, but don’t think the brooding crooner has forgotten his roots.

Last week, the singer went back to his hometown of Toronto to give an intimate performance at the Mod Club. So what is the significance? Back in 2011, when Abel Tesfaye was ominously releasing mixtapes, the venue was home to his first-ever concert. He even wore the same four-year-old camouflage jacket to honor the big night.

The artist sung classics like House Of Balloons “High For This” and “House Of Balloons/Glass Table Girls,” and also rocked the crowd with current chart-topper “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills,” “I can’t explain the feeling. The first time I ever exposed my face to my fans in 2011. MOD CLUB will live forever in my heart…” The Weeknd wrote on Instagram after the concert.
