The Drop: Elley Duhé & Juke Ross
Your guide to New Music Friday featuring gems from Elley Duhé and Juke Ross.

Zedd already lays claim to one of the biggest hits of 2018. A club-pop hybrid featuring country star Maren Morris, “The Middle” sums up the year’s anything goes approach to genre. (See Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant To Be” for another example). The perky bop climbed all the way to number five on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the German producer’s 4th top 10 hit. He will be hoping to net another one with “Happy Now,” his new single with rising vocalist Elley Duhé.

The “Stay” hitmaker has been teasing the collaboration on social media for the last couple of days, revealing the cover (below) as well as lyrics. “Keep on talking sweet till your fingers bleed,” read one emo tweet. “You’re a world away,” Zedd lamented in another. If those are any indication, it looks like “Happy Now” (out July 18) is going to be anything but. As for his collaborator, Elley has generated huge buzz with viral hits “Fly” and “Immortal,” and recently blessed New Music Friday with the very, very good “LOST MY MIND.”
