A Katy Perry & Zedd Collab?
The DJ joins Katy for the final leg of 'Witness World Tour' & possibly new music.

Zedd has the Midas touch when it comes to dance-pop crossovers. Hot on the heels of mega-hits “Stay” and “The Middle” comes “Happy Now.” The German DJ’s moody collaboration with Elley Duhé is steadily gaining support on pop radio and rapidly racking up those all-important Spotify streams. (48 million and climbing). The mellow bop, which incorporates more organic sounds and a slower tempo than we’re used to hearing from the hitmaker, should get another boost from the arrival of an attention-grabbing video.

First things first. Zedd and Elley are completely absent from the Dori Oskowitz-directed visual. Instead, we find two seemingly happy (and impossibly good-looking) couples lounging poolside in their desert retreat. Things take a dark turn, however, when a flashback reveals that infidelity is afoot. That leads to our anti-heroine taking drastic action in a surprising act of revenge. I’m not sure why EDM videos are so obsessed with death and disaster, but this take is well done and suits the song perfectly. Watch up top.
