Today, We Become A Blog: Idolator Gets Its First Cease-And-Desist Letter

That’s right! At 9:49 this morning, Idolator was blessed with a 2-pound, 4 zillion-world bundle of joy from the good people at Globix Corporation; while that might sound like the name of a made-up pharmaceutical firm, it’s actually a web-policing firm employed by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Anyway, they were none too happy about a Killers MP3 we hosted six days ago–possibly because we made fun of Brandon Flowers’ mustache–and so now it’s down.

Clearly, this is a momentous occasion for us, and to celebrate, we’re passing out cigars and playing our illegally bittorrented version of Sam’s Club at full blast. And frankly, we can’t tell if it’s the fumes or the tunes that’s making us more ill.

UPDATE: Turns out Globix is somr sort of ISP-kinda-thingee. Actually, we’re still not sure. We just know that it’s not a web-policing firm.
