The Vault: British Electro Outfit Turns ‘Blue’

Oct 16th, 2006 // 8 Comments

pram.jpgWe absolutely adore Pram, the Birmingham outfit of knob-twiddlers who have been recording together since 1990. Their horn-tinged mini-epic “Blue,” from their out-of-print 1994 album Helium, is a particular favorite of ours, thanks to the way Rosie Cuckston’s stream-of-consciousness lyrics merge with an intricate, herky-jerky drum line.

Yeah, they were great. The whole American Recordings/Too Pure tie-up back in the mid-nineties made no corporate sense whatsoever but it did help a lot of great bands actually get over here. (Am I the only one who remembers Minxus?)

yes you are, but now I want to know who they are because ‘I’m like that’.

    links to MInxus’ music?

Speaking of twiddling British knobs, anyone gots news on Throbbing Gristle’s latest emission?

Roosterocker: well, you can pick up their one album (to my knowledge) via Amazon for a penny. So you should. ;-)

My fave all time Too Pure band remains the godlike and unstoppable Long Fin Killie.

Ned we got to hang! I can’t believe Amazon would sell something for 1 cent!
