Calvin Harris recently uploaded a new video to YouTube for his tune “Awooga.” The clip shows the 27-year-old Scottish DJ/producer/pop star entertaining the dance-ready crowds during his recent gigs in Australia. There are also plenty of beverages, both alcoholic and non-, that pop up in the vid. But as Harris notes on YouTube, “It’s not technically product placement if they don’t pay you…!” Watch “Awooga” below.
Calvin also points out on YouTube that the song will be available only on Beatport beginning on March 21. Another noteworthy fact about “Awooga”: the lack of vocals.
“For me the singing was something I very much fell in to by default when I first started making music,” We Are Pop Slags quotes Harris saying in Australia’s Star Observer. “There was no one else to sing them so I did it. Now that I have people who are really good at singing and that’s what they do, the tunes will develop more and hopefully people will like these new ones.”
Well, too bad for those of you who’d grown to like the Scot’s default vocal delivery over the first two albums.
