French Montana Drops Remix To Brandy’s “Can You Hear Me Now”: Listen
Brandy‘s fifth album Two Eleven was sleek and modern R&B that drew all attention to the singer’s sultry voice, and she stuck to this foolproof approach in the Rico Love-produced “Can You Hear Me Now,” a song available on the album’s deluxe edition.
In his remix of “Can You Hear Me Now,” French Montana (last seen in his “Freaks” video”) responds to Brandy’s explicit instructions — “Don’t waste time with that talk / Just keep that back in motion” — with a few tangential verses. Yes, he can hear her. No, he cannot stand that he said-she said shit. Yes, he’ll put his time in. Bonus: he’s picked his phone provider: “Can you hear me now / Verizon.”
