A “Girls Love Beyonce” / “Say My Name” Mash-up Has Arrived: Listen

Drake‘s new song “Girls Love Beyonce” may interpolate the chorus to Destiny’s Child‘s “Say My Name,” but a new mash-up celebrates both the Toronto rapper’s moodiness and the R&B group’s sass.

In “We All Love Beyonce,” Raleigh, N.C.’s JAYBeatz uses the 1999 single’s original chorus and verses. He’s arranged the latter strategically, so that  soon after Beyonce sings, “It’s hard to believe that you / were at home, by yourself,” Drake sings, “No I’m not alone, even though nothing was the same / let me get your ass alone, let me hear you say my name.”

“We All Love Beyonce” plays out as if Beyonce’s interrogating Drake, then Drake tries to defend himself — overall, a solid argument that  perhaps Drake was inspired by more than Destiny’s Child’s hook. Hear “We Love Beyonce” after the jump.
