Drake posed with The Weeknd during a July 27 recording session in Toronto, to show how an Instagram shot (above) can be a thousand words, too. Their reunion follows persistent rumors that once-frequent collaborators decided to part ways for good, after The Weekend passed up a spot on Drake’s October’s Very Own roster and instead formed a Republic Records imprint, XO.
“SCARY TINGS,” Drake posted as the photo’s caption.
Their reunion is also incredibly timely: Both Toronto artists will release new albums within a week of each other this fall, The Weeknd’s proper debut Kiss Land on September 10 and Drake’s third album Nothing Was the Same on September 17. The two of them were last heard together in 2011, in The Weeknd’s “The Zone” and Take Care songs like “Crew Love and “Shot for Me.” Revisit the latter after the jump.
