Rap has always been obsessed with style, but without the likes of Jay Z and Kanye West, references to Margiela and Louboutin (even back when everyone thought it was Luh-BOW-tin) wouldn’t have become as ubiquitous as blunts and booties in rap songs. Hip-hop and high-end fashion are inseparable at this point (see: A$AP Rocky‘s “Fashion Killa” video, in which he goes on a designer shopping spree with Rihanna), and the latest chapter finds Jay Z partnering up with luxury department store Barneys New York for A New York Holiday.

The collaboration comprises “exclusive, limited edition products inspired by New York City in a color palette of black, white, gold and silver.” The two parties enlisted Throne-friendly fashion houses like Balenciaga, Balmain, and Lanvin for the line. Products will be available starting November 20, and 25 percent of sales will go to the Shawn Carter Foundation, which awards scholarships to underprivileged students in New York.
