Justin Bieber Doesn’t “Give A F*ck” What The Haters Say In New Cover Story

There’s a lengthy cover story about Justin Bieber in this week’s issue of The Hollywood Reporterwhich is all about his struggle to grow up and make mistakes on his own and learn from the error of his ways and dance like nobody’s watching or whatever, and it’s pretty even-handed — it’s not a hatchet job, at least! — but it also makes him seem fairly insufferable. Oh well.

Still! There’s a lot of interesting tidbits in the story, namely that Bieber relies on a lot of others for support — his pastor, who’s literally traveled the world to help Bieber out, as well as manager Scooter Braun and Will Smith, who apparently mentors the young crooner. (Braun is frequently springing to Bieber’s defense, which is his job, after all, whereas it seems like Smith as well as fellow friend Drake are more interested in calling Bieber out on his bad behavior.)

Then again, it may not be having much of an impact, since he also explains that there are times when you have to say, “I don’t give a fuck.” But wait! There’s more. “Not ‘I don’t give a fuck’ to just be reckless and do whatever, but ‘I don’t give a fuck what they say.’ … I know who I am and what I’m doing in my life and what I’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I’m happy with the man I’m becoming.”

And that’s all that matters, right?
