Lady Gaga Re-Records “Do What U Want” With Christina Aguilera: Listen To The New Version
Man, oh, man — Happy New Year to you. To kick 2014 with an added bit of pop oomph, Lady Gaga has gone and attempted to wash away the bad taste R. Kelly may have left in her fans’ mouths by re-recording “Do What U Want” with Ms. Christina Aguilera. You may recall that the two divas performed the track live on The Voice‘s Season 5 finale way back in 2013. Now a studio version of their rendition of the ARTPOP single is available on iTunes.
The differences between the R. Kelly and Xtina versions? No high tenor ad libs in the intro, alternate lyrics during the second verse and a run time that’s about 11 seconds less. At first it comes across a bit sparse compared to the original, but upon repeat plays, it becomes more obvious than ever that Christina added onto any track is a gift from the goddesses.
