Juvenile Makes A Comeback With “Booty” Featuring 2 Chainz: Listen

Last month, New Orleans rapper Juvenile stopped by Norcross, Georgia’s Tree Sounds Studios to talk music, past and present. One fan asked whether his next videos will still feature “urban girls,” as opposed to models. “You gotta understand that I’m from the hood, and everybody got that ugly person in they family,” he said. “Don’t try to act like all y’all cute or that everybody in your family is cute.”

Juvenile’s criteria is a bit more specific in “Booty,” his new song featuring 2 Chainz. He will not tolerate a “pancake” booty or stinky breath, nope. He would prefer a gaggle of women resembling Beyonce or Rihanna, sure. That said, the Cash Money flagship artist sounds NeNe Leakes-sassy at times but also hyped to make his throwback bounce-meets-bottle service return, soon after Drake invited him on stage to perform his 1999 breakout hit “Back That Azz Up” for tweens who knew every word, thanks to Drake’s own Take Care cover. Thanks to the multi-platinum “Azz” in particular, Juvenile became Cash Money’s first signee to become a bonafide pop sensation. (It bears emphasizing — Juve paved the way for chart success for Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drizzy.) While he did release 2012’s Rejuvenation to little fanfare, Juvenile could easily experience bigger success with his next, still-untitled album, thanks to renewed appreciation for Cash Money’s earliest hits — not to mention, videos featuring “urban girls” in sundresses and sneakers.
