Coldplay’s Chris Martin Thinks One Direction Are “Brilliant”

Coldplay singer Chris Martin sat down with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe last night (April 28), and he took a break from talking about Ghost Stories to sing the praises of fellow British “band” One Direction. Calling them “the biggest band in the world,” Martin said, “Their songs are great. I’m saying One Direction are brilliant and I’m not kidding.”

Not only that, but he admitted to even seeing their movie, This Is Us, which of course brings the British bromance to a new level. “Their songs are really good and I don’t think that any of them are going to go solo. I think they appreciate their chemistry, from watching their movie.” 

He added that they’re a bunch of hunks, to boot. After meeting Harry Styles, Martin joked he was “having a hot flush.”
