Kylie Minogue is both a beloved figure in the pop world and a national treasure in her home country of Australia. And while the Kiss Me Once singer has been back Down Under shooting her stint on The Voice, she took the time to sit down for a pretty captivating interview with 60 Minutes.
The chat covers all the bases of Kylie’s career — from her very first appearance on ’80s soap Neighbours up her coaching gig on The Voice — and doesn’t shy away from emotional topics like her early ’90s relationship with late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence (who Minogue says she had “many firsts” with) and the devastating breast cancer news she received nearly a decade ago.
The sitdown isn’t all fraught with emotion, however. For a bit of comic relief Kylie revisits her classic “Spinning Around” gold hotpants, which are now safely stored in Melbourne’s Cultural Arts Center…and must be handled with gloves.
