Beyonce & Nicki Minaj’s “Flawless” Remix: Listen

Late last week, rumors surfaced stating that Beyonce wrote a song with Nicki Minaj about leaving her husband, Jay Z. Turns out, those rumors were only half true: Early this morning (August 3), Beyonce and Nicki Minaj revealed their “Flawless” remix without warning. And what, exactly, does Beyonce have to say about her marriage? “We escalate, up on this shit like elevators / Of course sometimes shit go down when there’s a billion dollars on an elevator.”

Don’t worry – she repeats herself, in case folks don’t catch that the first time. Hear it below.

That’s right – a few months after the fact, Beyonce has finally addressed that video of her younger sister Solange, physically attacking Jay Z in an elevator. Her “Flawless” remix arrives amid reports that the hip-hop royal couple have been “carefully orchestrating the business of splitting up” during their ongoing On the Run tour. To all that, Beyonce spits, “You wish I was your ‘Pound Cake,‘” as in Drake and Hov’s collaboration, and “You can say what you want, I’m the shit / I want everyone to feel like this tonight.”

Of course, what arrives after all that is worth hearing too. Just as Beyonce did during the On the Run Atlanta concert, she shouts out to OutKast by sampling “SpottieOttieDopaliscious.” Then Nicki swoops in, boasting of her own selfie game and acting brilliantly coy when teasing of her “princess cut diamonds on my Disney” — and, naturally, declaring herself as the “Queen of Rap, slaying with Queen B.”
