Given the peerless quality of her voice, it’s hard to believe that Whitney Houston never recorded a live album. Sony Legacy Recordings is remedying that situation by releasing Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances on November 10. Lovingly curated/produced by long-time mentor Clive Davis (with input from the legendary diva’s estate), the CD/DVD includes a collection of the six-time Grammy winner’s finest live moments.

We’re excited to premiere a restored and remastered rendition of Whitney’s gorgeous ballad “You Give Good Love” from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson on April 5, 1985. The unique subtlety and strength of the much-missed singer’s voice is showcased superbly in the stunning performance, which helped the track reach number one on the R&B charts and become the legend’s first top five hit on the Billboard Hot 100. (It peaked at number three). Take a walk down memory lane after the jump.
