Christina Aguilera made a triumphant return to the stage last night (November 9) at the Breakthrough Prize Awards. The Lotus diva, who gave birth to daughter Summer Rain three months ago, looked incredible in a figure-hugging red gown as she sang signature tune “Beautiful” to a room full of scientists at the NASA Ames Research Center.
Watching this (low quality) video is a potent reminder that pop needs Christina. Not only has she discovered the fountain of youth — that outfit gives me major Back To Basics flashbacks — but her voice is still incomparable. Nobody serves vocal runs quite like Baby Jane! Happily, new music isn’t too far away. Xtina is already rumored to be cooking up her comeback hit with Pharrell. Watch her slay up top.
