Big Sean built up hype for his new album, Dark Sky Paradise, with a sold-out and star-studded concert at West Hollywood’s House of Blues Sunset Strip last night (February 7). After the Detroit rapper brought out fellow G.O.O.D. Music signee Travi$ Scott and longtime friend J. Cole, he was joined on stage by mentor Kanye West to perform joint hits like Chief Keef‘s “Don’t Like” remix, Cruel Summer‘s “Clique” and the live debut of Dark Sky Paradise‘s “Blessings.”

While Cole was on stage, Big Sean reminisced over how they, plus Wale used to do gigs with just 20 people in attendance. Then, before West performed his own hits medley (“Black Skinhead,” “New Slaves,” “Can’t Tell Me Nothin’,” “Gold Digger”), he told the House of Blues crowd of how other aspiring rappers try spitting for him, saying that they’re better than Big Sean — “and they’re not.” Thanks to such cameos, in addition to Sean Don’s own excitement, the February 24 release of Dark Sky Paradise now seems like a major event.

Above, watch Big Sean’s House of Blues concert, featuring cameos by the aforementioned rappers and also E-40, the Bay Area rap veteran featured on “I Don’t Fuck With You.” Below, see snapshots of who was in attendance, including Jay Z, Jennifer Lopez, Justin BieberChris Brown and Demi Lovato.
