Azealia Banks Quits Twitter (For Lent, Anyway)
Your Twitter timeline is about to get a lot more quiet: Azealia Banks is leaving Twitter…for now, anyway.
The frequently feisty Broke With Expensive Taste rapper, who will be posing nude for the April 2015 issue of Playboy, announced in a string of tweets that she’ll be leaving the social network for a brief time. “I missed the beginning of Lent but better late than never. I’m going off tweets until April 2nd!! My management will tweet AB news. I will still be on Instagram. But I need to give my mind a break. I’ll still be checking #BUSSYBOY pics tho,” she tweeted before signed off for a full month. (Do you think Erykah Badu will be sad about it?)
The log-out follows almost immediately after fellow rapper (and sworn enemy) Iggy Azalea chose to do the same thing due to online negativity. Banks, of course, has turned to Twitter to fan the flames of many, many beefs, so her absence may just what she needs in order to avoid burning any remaining bridges and concentrate on the music. And her upcoming tour!
