Nobody delivers a better awards show performance than Jennifer Lopez. From doing the salsa during a joyous Celia Cruz tribute or shaking her world-famous derriere next to Iggy Azalea, J.Lo always delivers the goods. That makes the prospect of the A.K.A. diva delivering a tribute to Selena Quintanilla so tantalizing. Not only is she the consummate live performer, but Jenny already shares a strong connection with the Tejano legend.

Of course, Jennifer played the Mexican superstar in 1997 biopic Selena — a role that earned her a Golden Globe nomination. “It’s an honor, a great honor to be able to, 20 years after her death, to do a tribute for Selena,” the flawless 45-year-old says. “She continues to be someone that inspires. It’s something that excites me very much. And I want to do something special, very special — just like she was — in this tribute.” I can’t wait.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards air on Telemundo on April 30. Are you excited for Jennifer’s performance? Let us know in the comments below.
