It’s Christmas In July!: Mariah Carey To Direct & Star In Xmas Hallmark Movie
Katy Perry caught Mariah Carey's Las Vegas show and then met the diva backstage.
Mariah Carey is basically the Queen of Christmas by default every year because her song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” slays (sleighs?) all the other Yuletide tunes. So it’s only fitting that she’s signed on to do a Christmas movie. The elusive chanteuse will make her directorial debut with Mariah Carey’s Christmas Project for the Hallmark Channel this year, which she’ll also star in.
With that title, it sounds like it’d be some sort of Christmas variety special, but Billboard reports it’s a scripted film. Production starts in the fall and it will air in December, obviously, as part of the network’s Countdown To Christmas programming.
