Well, this is upsetting.

Britney Spears has delayed the release of her single “Make Me (Oooh)” and its video until later this summer. Spears was supposed to premier the track at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards this Sunday, but according to reporter Robin Leachthe Holy Spearit had some technical difficulties pop up and paused the rollout of the new tune.

“‘There’s no point in Britney previewing it so far in advance if we don’t even have a new release date yet,’ I was told,” said Leach in his recent article in the Las Vegas Sun. “’She is like us truly saddened that matters outside our hands have set back the hoped-for schedule…We’re told that it’ll now be later in the summer, but we don’t even know exactly when yet until production hiccups are resolved.’”

There’s also no word on what this means for her forthcoming album, which was reportedly supposed to drop in May. But despite the snag, the pop legend will still perform at the BBMAs. In fact, she’ll be kicking the whole thing off, opening up the three-hour show with a medley of her hits.
