On July 22, WikiLeaks released nearly 20,000 emails sent and received by the Democratic National Convention. The most damning takeaway was how staffers brainstormed ways to undercut Bernie Sanders in favor of eventual Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Meanwhile another, albeit far less consequential, discovery was how the White House wouldn’t allow Ariana Grande to perform there. Why? Donutgate.

Among other talking points, one committee member pointed how an actual Congressman thought it was hypocritical that liberals blast Donald Trump for saying that Mexican immigrants are drug traffickers and racists. Meanwhile, “this misguided young pop singer said that she hated American and hated Americans” and “contaminated food for resale with the very tongue with which she uttered the hatred rant.”

The final word on the proposed White House performance came two emails later: “Nope, sorry.” Read the entire leaked exchange here.
