Hear The Official Version Of Drake’s Lost Kanye West-Produced Track “You Know, You Know”

Back in 2009, Drake was far from the commercial heavyweight he is today and was still routinely getting clowned for his child actor background. But he had a co-sign from his current pal Kanye West, and before his debut Thank Me Later dropped, West offered up his production services for the song “You Know, You Know.” It didn’t make the cut for the album, and it’s been a holy grail for Drake and Kanye fans over the years, with low quality leaks popping up and vanishing over time. But a few days ago, Drake shared the official audio.

And in all its CDQ glory, it was worth the wait. West’s swinging beat puts hyper synth squiggles overtop piano plods, and the result was ahead of its time for 2009 and still sounds like the future seven years later. As for Drake, it’s not like he was shying away from the acting disses: “Half a million dollars later and my taxes paid / And I’m still spending money from my acting days.”
