Zara Larsson Interview
Zara Larsson on her debut US LP, various hit singles and Beyonce obsession.

Zara Larsson is the latest pop star to drop by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. The 18-year-old, who wore a white tank emblazoned with “ratchet,” belted out her new single “Ain’t My Fault” with a full band and a pair of backing vocalists. She managed to reproduce the catchy banger’s multi-layered sound and delivered a near-flawless vocal. It was then the Swedish diva’s turn to perform a cover and she settled on Drake and Rihanna’s “Too Good,” which is fitting given the similarities between her voice and RiRi’s. The duet loses some of its magic as a solo song, but it’s still well worth a listen.

The teenager is one of the hottest new artists to emerge in the last couple of years. Arguably the break-out pop star of 2015, Zara landed huge international hits with power ballad “Uncover” (originally released in 2013) and summery bop “Lush Life.” She scored her first US hit with MNEK collaboration “Never Forget You,” which peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went double platinum. Her debut international LP is finished and due later this year. Watch her in action above and below.
