Kylie Minogue’s Nashville Adventure: Studio Time With Taylor Swift’s Producer

It looks increasingly likely that Kylie Minogue’s 14th LP will have a splash of country. The pop icon surprised fans by posting pics with Nashville songwriter/producers Phil Barton (Lee Bice’s “A Woman Like You”) and Lindsay Rimes (Locash’s “I Know Somebody” and Thomas Rhett’s “Background Music”) earlier this week. The hard-working diva is back in the studio today — cooking up hits with Nathan Chapman, a Grammy Award-winning producer who has worked on all of Taylor Swift’s albums.

Again, this is slightly confusing given that BMG promised “a great, big, classic Kylie pop record.” She seemed to be well on her way to delivering that by working with UK hitmaker Sigala and long-time collaborators Richard “Biff” Stannard, Brian Higgins and Guy Chambers. Not that it matters. Kylie has always been an unusually adventurous pop princess, bouncing happily between club music, big ballads and indie experiments. See the pics below.
