Cardi B & Migos Unite On Her Sexy ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ Track “Drip”
Cardi B is gearing up to roll out her debut LP, Invasion of Privacy, this week, and she is ramping up the promo. Last week she released her introspective buzz track, “Be Careful.” The evocative mid-tempo offered a different glimpse at her artistry after a string of searing club anthems like her breakout single “Bodak Yellow.” Earlier this week, she dropped her lavish “Bartier Cardi” video, which features some serious looks and is bound to give the top 20 single a rise on the charts. Today (April 4), she reunites with Migos to unveil a new buzz track called “Drip.” And she and the rap trio are taking it back to the club on their latest collaboration.
On it, the quartet brag about their accomplishments over a driving beat. Cardi drops the first verse, and she sets herself up for some memorable lines. “Lookin’ like a right swipe on Tinder. Shit on these hoes, light up my wrist on these hoes. Now I look down on these bitches, I feel like I’m on stilts on these hoes,” she fiercely raps. She joins forces with her fiancé, Offset, on the chorus before ceding the remaining verses to her featured guests. “Came through dripping (drip, drip). Diamonds on my wrist, they dripping ice,” they rap on the earworm-worthy chorus.
Considering that Cardi’s previous work with Migos on “MotorSport” went top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, it is not surprising that they decided to record a new track for Invasion of Privacy. The Nicki Minaj-assisted anthem became a streaming giant, and “Drip” could easily replicate its success. Considering that everything the femcee touches turns to gold, I wouldn’t be surprised if this enjoys its own run on the charts. Give it a spin below!
