Ariana Grande Teases New Single “The Light Is Coming” Featuring Nicki Minaj
Ariana Grande really had us fooled when she teases lyrics from a new song called “R.E.M.” a couple of weeks ago. We thought it was going to be her next single, but it looks like the pop star is going with “The Light Is Coming” — her fourth collaboration with Nicki Minaj after “Bang Bang,” “Side To Side” and “Get On Your Knees.” The 24-year-old fired up Twitter to share a video of her singing along to the rapper’s verse. “Why you had to make me go and call my side guy,” the “Chun Li” hitmaker raps. “Can’t let an F- boy, F- up my nice vibes.”
The clip also contains a brief snippet of the chorus. “The light is coming to give back everything the darkness stole,” Ariana sings over a militaristic beat. One more thing, there’s a male voice featured on the chorus and that might just be Drake. Rumors started swirling that he was part of the song when he interacted with the pair on Instagram.
