The Norwegian pop star probes the indie rockers about their 'Turn' remix.

A lot of artists have covered Fleetwood Mac’s seminal “Landslide” (most notably The Dixie Chicks), but few have put a downtempo electro spin on the song — at least, that I’m aware of. That’s the direction Dagny takes on her interpretation of the ballad and the glitchy, less-is-more approach pays dividends. She makes the song her own without erasing the subtlety, brittle beauty and melancholy of the original. I’m not sure why the Norwegian pop star is randomly covering classics, but “Landslide” is undeniably lovely.

It has been a busy year for Dagny. The “Backbeat” singer has dropped a couple of typically great singles (“That Feeling When” and “Used To You”) and lent her pristine vocals to Seeb’s “Drink About,” which has racked up more than 50 million streams. She also jumped on a remix of The Wombat’s alt-rock anthem, “Turn.” With all this activity, a new EP can’t be too far away. Given the quality of 2016’s Ultraviolet, it’s destined to be an essential listen. Check out her cover of “Landslide” below.
