has quite the resume. She’s an heiress (note her last name) and fashion icon, having been the late, great Alexander McQueen
‘s muse. The 46-year-old is now trying her hand at pop music because she can. The budding diva released her debut single
last year but takes things to the next level with bizarre David Bowie
-referencing pop anthem “Evening In Space”.
Produced by the Tony Visconti (who is best known for helming classic Bowie albums like Space Oddity), Daphne’s latest effort is an acquired taste. I love her dramatic deliver and drowsy vocal style but it’s not for everyone. The video, however, is a must-watch experience for all. Directed By David LaChapelle, the kooky visual finds our heroine rocking killer couture in a spaceship until she crashes and hooks up with an alien. Watch in awe up top. More »

Back when Katy Perry posted a photo of herself in mermaid garb planking as a mermaid
, we had no idea what was going on. Was the pop star following in Lady Gaga’s flippers
and jumping on the mer-person trend for a new video? Turns out the planking pic was taken on set of a David LaChapelle photo shoot for ghd’s Air hairdryer — because a mermaid, whose hair is constantly
wet, is in most need of a blow-dry, right? “It’s as if Lisa Frank had done The Little Mermaid
,” described Katy. So, are you digging her pink locks, or are you feeling blue
Nicki Minaj may be the woman of a thousand faces
, but she shows off just one fierce glare for her MAC Viva Glam campaign pic, posing alongside her fellow MAC spokesperson, Ricky Martin. The promo pic, shot by David LaChapelle, features Martin next to Harajuku Barbie bent over a motorcycle, displaying a ton of colorful MAC products on her lovely visage. But this isn’t the only makeup-centric venture for Nicki at the moment — she’s currently promoting a mini line of nailpolishes for OPI, with names based off Pink Friday
tracks (like “Metal 4 Life” and “Super Bass Shatter”). Check the behind-the-scenes of her promo shoot below! More »
Rihanna’s controversial “We Found Love” video
is currently getting people up in arms over its content
, but legal woes for the singer over an older racy clip have finally been put to rest. David LaChapelle filed a $1 million lawsuit
against Rihanna and Def Jam back in February, where he alleged there were various similarities between her “S&M”
video and his own work. Yesterday, Rolling Stone
confirmed that a resolution has been reached out of court, and that the photographer is “happy” with the results. Just don’t expect him to be hired by RiRi anytime soon.
So remember that lawsuit
photographer David LaChapelle filed against Rihanna waaaaaay back in February, where he alleged the various similarities between her “S&M”
video and his own work depicting titillating scenes of bondage? Turns out the New York City US District Court has refused to dismiss the case, which means it will now move ahead to a pretrial conference in August.
The controversy surrounding Rihanna’s new single “S&M” keeps escalating — first, the U.K. censors a handful of the lyrics and changes the title to “Come On”; then the song’s video gets totally banned in 11 countries
; and now celebrity photographer David LaChapelle is claiming that the brightly-hued vid
is copying his style and imagery from his photo shoots. And he’s suin’ mad. More »
