frontwoman Hayley Williams
covers the December/January issue of Bust
magazine. The recent Zedd collaborator
stares intently at the camera with her piercing green eyes and trademark red hair. It’s fierce, sexy and strong. Three adjectives that describe Hayley perfectly.
The shoot appears to have a vintage theme with the rock icon posing in outfits straight out of Mad Men. Or perhaps she just picked them up on Melrose, it’s hard to tell these days. Regardless, Hayley looks amazing and smizes like her life depended on it. More »
is already conquering clubs with atomic-powered Hayley Williams
collaboration “Stay The Night”
, so imagine the damage he’ll do when the Tiesto
remix reaches DJs. Egos can get in the way when EDM titans collide but everything about this electro-overhaul works.
In its original form, the “Clarity” hitmaker’s latest plays like a soaring house ballad. That makes it perfect for the increasingly dance-friendly airwaves but, in Tiesto’s capable hands, it becomes a big-room beast. Check out the song you’ll be hearing at clubs for the next six months after the jump. More »
embraces her new role as an edgy dance diva in Zedd
‘s illuminating “Stay The Night”
video. There’s a lot going on in this clip. For starters, an awkward couple performs a weird interpretative dance on their sofa before taking it to the bedroom. Where they continue their bizarre choreography under the covers.
Meanwhile Zedd looks cute playing the piano and Hayley rocks out in a room full of flashing lightbulbs, which could well give you epilepsy. It’s slick, well-executed and oddly artistic. The highlight is definitely the Paramore frontwoman’s hair though. Watch up top. More »
is finally ready to follow up breakthrough hit “Clarity”
with another unlikely collaboration. Taking the reigns from English alt-pop diva Foxes
front-lady Hayley Williams
. She puts her trademark angsty rock leanings to the side for “Stay The Night” — another soaring house anthem with massive crossover potential.
Like Foxes, the red-haired rocker is an inspired choice. Her rough-edged vocal is the perfect foil for Zedd’s dreamy synths and she lends the track a certain credibility outside the ever-growing EDM market. “Stay The Night” is tipped to be the lead single from an upcoming repackage of the German/Russian DJ’s debut album Clarity. Calvin Harris, Avicii and David Guetta have a new competitor to worry about. More »
The sun may not have decided to come out for the (now springtime) 2013 MTV Movie Awards
, but we like to think that just means that some of our favorite pop stars could shine brighter. Paramore
stepped out onto the red carpet at the Sony Pictures Studios together with frontwoman Hayley Williams
working a very 90s-inspired outfit of overall pants, a baby tee and shoes. (If not for her half-pink-half-orange hair, we would have mistaken Hayley was a sales girl at Contempo Casuals.) Meanwhile, Snoop Lion
and Movie Awards performer Macklemore
were competing in the unofficial Most Outrageous Jacket category. We’re assuming the latter’s is a thrift store find, while the former’s was custom made. Check out all the highlights straight from Culver City.
is having a bit of fun with Gotye
‘s “Somebody That I Used To Know” — the band covered the smash single for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, and nabbed Paramore
‘s Hayley Williams
‘s part. Everything starts out alright, but frontman Nate Ruess can’t reach the same range as Gotye during the chorus, and by the time Hayley (who only appears via prerecorded vocals) joins in, the whole number turns shaky and comes off like karaoke. As overplayed as it might be, we’ll stick with the original, thanks. [Via Spin
For better or for worse, UK-based music magazine NME has rolled out its shortlist of nominees for its 2012 NME Awards. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Adele each earned noms across the various irreverent categories — some more forgiving than others. (Born This Way and Under the Mistletoe both came in under Worst Album, oof!) Also scoring nods were newcomers Lana Del Rey and Azealia Banks and awards veterans Coldplay, The Throne and Katy Perry. We already know that Taylor Swift loves surprises — including every single award she’s ever won.
We also know Ellen’s pal
So maybe it’s not
such a surprise that the Wonderstruck songbird
brought her friend Hayley Williams to the stage at the Nashville stop on her Speak Now tour last night. The dissimilar pair performed Paramore’s “That’s What You Get,” with the Muppet-loving
redhead singing the verses and the atrociously-illustrated
country diva taking on the chorus. No, you’re not being punk’d
— what you
get is a video of this collaboration, if you head below! More »
