‘s Season 1 Final Four came home while half of the remaining Season 2 contestants were sent home on Tuesday night’s (May 1) elimination show. Which means, yes, the competition is once again down to four singers after a long night of apologies from the coaches who put the fates of their singers entirely into America’s hands and reassurances from the coaches who skewed the odds in one person’s favor. And then last year’s inaugural winner Javier Colon
, along with Vicci Martinez
, Dia Frampton
and Beverly McClellan
returned to the NBC stage (with some very
special friends, may we add) to perform and to catch us up on their year following The Voice
and to demonstrate to the poor souls who’d be going no further in the competition that hey, even the losers win on this show. More »
We decided to really get into the spirit of love this February 14, and helping us win your hearts is The Voice Season 1 winner, Javier Colon
. You could be the proud owner of an acoustic guitar — signed by Javier himself! All you have to do is pay tribute to his Valentine’s Day-ready song with Natasha Bedingfield, “As Long As We Got Love”
. Don’t worry, you don’t need to know how to play a single chord. Jump below for details on how to enter.
Javier Colon and Natasha Bedingfield’s video for single “As Long As We Got Love”
is about — what else? — amore
. And to celebrate that emotion, the musical pair were eager to portray the life of one lovey-dovey couple in the music video. “It’s a story about people who’ve fallen in love at a young age,” Bedingfield says in a behind-the-scenes clip from the set of the shoot. “It’s kind of like years later, when there’s more responsibilities — a house, a car, a dog. Sometimes you can lose sight of what really originally drew you together.”
Javier Colon was crowned the winner of the first season of The Voice
in late June. Meanwhile, his first album since that triumph (and his third overall), Come Through For You
, is being released a mere five months later, on November 21. Head below to hear the LP’s upbeat first single, a collaboration with Natasha Bedingfield called “As Long As We Got Love”.
