Nicki Minaj blessed fans with a limited edition, semi-nude calendar when they bought deluxe bundles of The Pinkprint from her website. The pics inevitably made their way online and caused quite a stir. After all, it’s not every day you see the femcee’s famous butt cheeks and killer curves in all their jaw-dropping glory! The 32-year-old continued to make the world a better place this afternoon (January 27) by sharing outtakes from the sexy shoot on Instagram.
There’s a new angle on an old favorite (the butt-revealing, gun-toting swimsuit pic), a confronting pose in an elegant leather ensemble and innovative use of a motorcycle prop. You can see all the outtakes after the jump. What else is new with Nicki? Well, the internet is buzzing with rumors that she’s currently hanging out with Beyonce on the set of their “Feeling Myself” video and Drake/Lil Wayne collaboration “Truffle Butter” is steadily climbing iTunes. Diplo‘s infamous Diplo And Friends show has been going strong for years, in which the talented superstar invites all sorts of acts to come in and show off their DJ and production skills with a curated set of some of their hottest dance tracks of the moment. And to kick off 2015 with a bang, Diplo’s gone and taken the reigns himself with his own killer 2-hour show — and some rather familiar pop voices.
As we already know, the producer was enlisted by none other than the Queen Of Pop herself, Madonna, to produce a handful of songs on her forthcoming record, Rebel Heart, including the bratty, braggy anthem “Bitch I’m Madonna” featuring Nicki Minaj
The remix kicks in around the 1:14:55 mark, giving the already packed production even more bells, whistles and hot beats. Is this a sign that “Bitch I’m Madonna” could be next in line for the single treatment? Or does Diplo just especially love this particular Rebel Heart bop?
Listen to the remix after the jump, and let us know what you think in the comments below. More »
Madonna has revealed the tracklist for Rebel Heart on iTunes. With that comes some good news: Despite the dozens of leaks and vast list of producers and artists (Diplo, Avicii, Kanye West) already linked to the release, the pop superstar continues to surprise with her choice of collaborators.
Turns out, Nicki Minaj isn’t the only rapper featured on her new studio album. Illmatic MC Nas guests on a song titled “Veni Vedi Vici.” Perhaps more importantly, though, Chance the Rapper appears alongside Mike Tyson on a track called “Iconic.” Yes, that would be the same heavyweight boxing champion who, for whatever reason, helped The Black Keys announce their eighth studio album Turn Blue.
Madonna’s Rebel Heart is out March 10. See the tracklist below. More »
“How much of a failure am I?” Nicki Minaj, rap mogul, asks in Nicki Minaj: My Time Again.
This documentary, MTV’s sequel to 2010′s Nicki Minaj: My Time Now, aired January 17 — so, a month since she released her third album The Pinkprint. Minaj reflects on obstacles that she’s discussed at length since then: She explains her wardrobe malfunction at the MTV Video Music Awards, her struggle to strike a balance between her career and family life and the (broad) reasons why she split with her longtime boyfriend Safaree Samuels — who, just as in My Time Now, appears by her side without explanation, though only briefly. And now for something completely different: It’s Gwyneth Paltrow singing your favorite rap jams on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon!
Of course, Gwyneth’s no stranger to the music world: She’s sung songs like Pharrell‘s “Happy” on Glee, starred in Country Strong and even rapped a bit of N.W.A.‘s “Straight Outta Compton” on Graham Norton. And now, The GOOP-y One is serving up schmaltzy Broadway renditions of your favorite hip-hop jams alongside Jimmy. The songs being given all of Gwenny’s theatrical glamour? Drake‘s “Started From The Bottom,” Nicki Minaj‘s “Anaconda” and Big Sean‘s “I Don’t Fuck With You.”
With Jimmy on the keys, Gwyneth converts the radio hits into over-the-top musical numbers, dressed in an unusual head-to-toe pink ensemble. To be fair, her vocals were on point, although can anything really beat Ariana Grande‘s own Broadway take on classic rap cuts? Perhaps they should have a battle. Make it happen, Jimmy! More »
Nicki Minaj was a major force in music last year, thanks to her booty-breaking “Anaconda” video and her best album to date — The Pinkprint (released on December 15). But now, we’re getting the chance to see the true woman behind all of the industry madness. The rapstress has announced her new documentary with MTV, titled My Time Again. It serves as the follow-up to 2010′s My Time Now.
The one-minute trailer gives an insight to Minaj’s life, showing visits with her grandmother to the now-infamous wardrobe malfunction at the 2014 MTV VMAs. There are even a few tears and laughs thrown into the mix. Catch the documentary on Sunday, January 18 at 10 p.m. EST and view the trailer after the jump! More »
In her ultra-sexy 2015 calendar, Nicki Minaj posed in a skimpy red bikini in front of the American flag. But for the January issue of Rolling Stone, though, the rapper tones down the raunchiness just a touch while still being patriotic. It’s surprising actually, seeing how the magazine’s editorial spread is shot by the infamous Terry Richardson!
The “Feelin’ Myself” diva flaunts her boobs in a tight tank, snarls while rocking a sexy black lingerie set and even flashes a smile with the photographer. View the photos in the gallery up top, and read highlights from the rapper’s interview after the jump! More »
As soon as you get your record deal, delete your pre-fame tweets. That’s a lesson that Tinashe and Sam Smith learned the hard way in 2014. The latest artist to come under fire for ancient online commentary is rising alt-R&B diva SZA. She should be bragging about her songwriting credit on Nicki Minaj and Beyonce‘s Pinkprint duet “Feelin’ Myself,” instead her mentions are a war zone after old tweets dragging those collaborators (as well as Rihanna and Ciara) went viral.
“Neither Rihanna or Ciara can hold a note worth a damn… ones just worse than the other. So wats the beef?!?” she pondered way back in 2011. SZA had even harsher words for Queen Bey, declaring: “Beyonce lookin more and more like Madonna every day! Coulda swore she was black at one point…” Oh, and she also endorsed Iggy Azalea at Onika’s expense. “Nicki got a problem commin up FAST,” the 24-year-old wrote before linking to one of the Australian femcee’s early demos. See those tweets and her (sort of) apology after the jump. More »
