From Nicki Minaj
‘s booty-shaking “Anaconda”
to Jennifer Lopez
‘s twerk-ready “Booty”
the worship of the derriere is in full force in pop this year — which means there has never been a more pressing need to celebrate the pop star butt.
We’ve collected a whole range of rumps: From sexercizing with Kylie Minogue, to a rather cheeky photo shoot with Olly Murs, to rolling up the partition please with Yoncé, to Miss Miley‘s Bangerz Tour shenanigans, to cooking up breakfast in the buff with a babe from 5 Seconds Of Summer, we’ve had no shortage of booty action from our faves.

Remember Olly Murs
, the British pop star that scored a top 30 hit with Flo Rida
in 2013? Well, he’s working on a new album and decided to generate some early hype by posting a pic of his butt on Twitter. Funnily enough, the X Factor
runner-up’s behavior isn’t even that unusual behavior. Hell, Cody Simpson
is already posting nudes
He captioned the image with lyrics from Sisqo‘s poetic and legendary “Thong Song” and made a quip about shooting a calendar. Olly is clearly pulling out all the stops for album number four. His last effort Right Place Right Time topped the charts in the UK and eventually sold four-times platinum. It also reached the top 20 over here. See the crooner’s tweet after the jump. More »
looks back on his short but extremely eventful career in the video for catchy new single “Right Place Right Time”. The Brit has enjoyed a banner year with unexpected US chart success
and a support slot on Robbie Williams
‘ record-breaking European tour, so his contemplative state of mind is totally understandable.
Highlights of the reflective clip include the 28-year-old’s X Factor audition, desert trek for Comic Relief and footage of his American tour. The video is pieced together with cheeky backstage antics and comes together quite nicely — never feeling like a hasty montage. Watch Olly come to terms with his pop star journey above. More »

Is there such a thing as too many crying teenagers? On December 7, we’ll know for sure, when New York City becomes the epicenter of insane fandom: One Direction, Justin Bieber
and Taylor Swift
are set to perform at Z100′s always-starstudded Jingle Ball. (Also playing are fun.
, Jason Mraz
, The Wanted
, Ed Sheeran
and Olly Murs
, a line-up that would be impressive on its own.) The concert will take place at Madison Square Garden, but expect to hear the screams of their fans in New Jersey.
Tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday, October 23 at 4 p.m. ET, but Z100 “ZVIP” members will be able to purchase them 24 hours earlier. While we’re not sure what a ZVIP member is, we’re guessing a whole slew of Directioners, Beliebers and Swiftys up and down the eastern seaboard are about to find out.
For the first single off third UK album (and first in the US) Right Place, Right Time
, Olly Murs
enlisted Flo Rida
for a few cookie cutter rhymes. And, yes, the Florida MC has quite the hit-making track record — but Olly needn’t have bothered, as the song is a total disco-pop winner, and would stand on its own without the “Whistle”
Songwriters Claude Kelly and Steve Robson co-wrote the tune with Murs. To be honest, it sounds a tad like Maroon 5‘s 2007 chart topper “Makes Me Wonder” meets Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” — if such a mash-up had been done by, say, Backstreet Boys instead. At any rate, Olly’s previous single “Heart Skips A Beat” has been flirting with becoming a US crossover hit, but “Troublemaker” could truly be the song to finally make him a viable star here. Watch the lyric vid above.
So, remember how Olly Murs
was supposed to release In Case You Didn’t Know in the US
on September 25, and the tracklist was going to be a combo of tunes from his first two UK albums? You can now scratch that. A Columbia press release issued today notes that the British crooner’s American debut album will be Right Place, Right Time
, and it will be comprised of mostly new material (save for “Heart Skips A Beat,”
which has been steadily climbing the iTunes download chart over the past month, and “Dance With Me Tonight”).
Another song said to be included is the Flo Rida-featuring “Troublemaker”. Right Place, Right Time is scheduled for a December 4 release, so hold on just little longer, Olly fans!
Whether it be the London Olympics
, our collective obsession with PBS’ Downton Abbey
, the resurgence and re-tooling of such series as Doctor Who
and Absolutely Fabulous
or, of course, the slew of musicians hailing from the UK who’ve infiltrated our charts over the past couple years, America is pledging allegiance to all things British once again. And given our love for pop here at Idolator, we couldn’t be more chuffed over this third British invasion that’s taken over the airwaves in the good ol’ U.S.A.
Above, we rounded up the 13 artists hailing from the UK who we feel best represent the new crop of across-the-pond movers and shakers on the pop scene: from Queen Adele and London MC Tinie Tempah to boy bands like The Wanted and One Direction and X Factor UK alums Cher Lloyd and Olly Murs. Raise your Union Jack high and flip through our gallery!
has earned his American stripes by touring around with One Direction
as the boy band’s opener
, and now the “Heart Skips A Beat”
crooner will get his big payoff: a US release of debut LP In Case You Didn’t Know
. Like his fellow countrymen The Wanted
and their self-titled American EP, Murs’ 10-track set (due out September 25 via Columbia) is a combo of material from his first two UK albums Olly Murs
and In Case You Didn’t Know
, including the hits “Please Don’t Let Me Go”, “Thinking Of Me” and “Dance With Me Tonight”. Catch the full tracklist after the jump. More »
are currently trekking around North America with fellow UK artist Olly Murs
in tow as opening act, and naturally the lads have been getting up to some backstage shenanigans. Take, for instance, 1D and Olly’s stop in Toronto
for their performances at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre, where Olly gathered up his band behind the scenes for an acoustic jam session on “Heart Skips A Beat”
. One of Murs’ crew filmed the impromptu event, and then panned over to reveal that 1D’s Niall Horan was playing along on guitar…while sitting on the toilet. Watch this class act below. More »
