Good morning everybody! The world continues to turn (though, uh, not the same way it did last week), and it’s a new day, so let’s mix it up!

Did You Hear?

:: Justin Timberlake turns a deaf ear to our pleas to record a new album and decides instead to take the lead role in the movie Bad Teacher, opposite his ex-girlfriend, Cameron Diaz. (Note to Jessica Biel: call us. We’ll work together to get him back to the studio). [Just Jared]

:: Justin Bieber meets his number one fan, 3-year old Cody of crying-over-Justin-Bieber fame. This girl’s life is all downhill from here. [The Daily What]

:: Lil Wayne agreed at the last minute to appear in “Love Hurts” video, the first from his one-time flame, R&B singer Nivea (or as Bossip describes her, “babymama #4”.] Weezy has contributed to more music videos in the last several weeks than John Mayer has made in his career. [Bossip]

:: Courtney Love’s Twitter Rant Target of the Day: Lily Allen. [Vulture]

:: Speaking of tweets, Ke$ha is obviously on Team @ConanOBrien. [Wonderwall]

After the jump: we bid bye, bye to Miss American Pie.

Music on TV Today: :: Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) – Avril Lavigne :: Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC) – Grizzly Bear :: Jimmy Kimmel Live (ABC) – Jet :: Late Show with Jimmy Fallon (NBC) – Erykah Badu :: Live with Regis and Kelly (ABC) – Corinne Bailey Rae

VIDEO REWIND OF THE DAY: This day last month wasthe 51st anniversary of the death of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, who all died in a tragic plane crash while traveling together to another city on their Winter Dance Party tour. That day, you may already be aware, is referred to as “the day the music died,” in 1972 by Don McLean’s epic eight-minute tribute, “American Pie.” We missed it last month (blame the Olympics and the Grammys for taking over our thoughts), but it’s never to check out a live performance of the hit song below. (Let’s ignore Madonna’s cover of the song, which may well be the day the music understandably rolled over in its grave.)

Have a great day!
