Whatcha Say: Justin Bieber, Beyonce and Lady Gaga Got Our Readers Talking

Let’s be honest: The pop news has been coming in pretty slow ’round these parts. Why? Well, because basically everyone and their mother is down in Austin right now for SXSW! Some of our very favorite pop acts are currently turning it out for the crowds — and we’ve even been checking in a few, including Betty Who and Snoop Dogg.

And for those of us who weren’t able to nab a ticket down to Texas, the party’s been brought to us through fan videos and live streams — maybe even a little too much party. (Sorry, Gaga.) From Coldplay to Justin Bieber to Jay-Z and Kanye West, it seems like everyone was getting in on the fun down South this week. As always, you guys had plenty to say. :: John got (mostly) into the mix with Little Mix on Letterman on Little Mix Make David Letterman “Move”: Watch: “I don’t know if I’d say “flawless” (one of these girls is not as strong as the others), but man, that song never gets old.”

:: Enver could barely contain their excitement for Lana Del Rey‘s tour on Lana Del Rey Announces 2014 North American Tour Dates: “I have been waiting since 2012 for this. I’ve had my concert outfit picked out since then. I get to finally strut it out!”

:: Jay wasn’t quite saying “MMM YEAH” while watching the new Austin Mahone video on Austin Mahone And Pitbull Rock Matching Leather Outfits In “Mmm Yeah”: Watch: “Austin Mahone seems to just come across as the poor man’s (or would it be poor little girl’s?) Justin Bieber. He seems to take what Justin has probably rejected. The lame wardrobe. The bad hair style. The D-list rapper. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t care for Bieber. Not to mention the so bad it’s not good at all song choices. I can see why he hasn’t quite blown up in the way Justin did. And is it me or at this point doesn’t Pitbull look like Dr. Evil with sunglasses on?”

:: danny had a bone to pick with Bieber’s etiquette on Justin Bieber’s Deposition Video: Watch Four+ Hours Of Hell Condensed Into Six Minutes Of Torture: “They keep saying “you’re harassing the client” but if Justin would just chill out and say yes, no, yes, yes…it would be over. He’s acting like a 10 year old that didn’t get a toy.”

:: And Just Jada just thought it was annoying that the video even saw the light of day: “I honestly dont see why this needed to be published. If it was any other person no one would be making such a big deal about all this. I think its pretty clear that that lawyer was being a bitch. I understand that Justin could have handled it better but do you blame him? If some guy was harassing me for hours about a case that is not even mine and asking me absolutely ridiculous questions I would have a big ass attitude as well. But seriously i think they should just leave the guy alone. Maybe its the fact that everyone is picking at every single thing he does that made him this way.”

:: Gretchen Weiners had to agree with Bill O’Reilly about the “Partition” video on Beyonce’s “Partition” Video Has Bill O’Reilly All Hot & Bothered: “The Monica Lewinsky line is really crass. It’s not art.”

:: And Brett had to agree, even as a BeyHive member: “First off, let me say that I LOVE Beyonce & the song Partition…but I totally admit that it’s straight up soft-core porn. I do find it disturbing that Beyonce is seen as this amazing role model…yet she’s writhing around naked to sell albums. Pop singers & celebrities should NEVER be considered role models, because let’s be honest, they’re never high quality role model material. Let Beyonce do her thing without throwing that expectation of being a role model on her.”

:: Jonny M, too, made a concession: “I don’t usually agree with anything Bill says, but am with him on this. I think Beyoncé is capable of better, and no need to include the overt sexuality shown here. Not diggin’ the lyrics, either.”

:: And finally, the classily named Because You Scissored Me noticed that Gaga lifted her barf-heavy act from a performance years ago on Lady Gaga’s SXSW Show Was Batsh*t Insane: Watch Her Get Puked On, Scissor & Roast On A Spit: “Didn’t Celine Dion and Diane Warren do this exact same act at one of Clive Davis’s parties decades ago?”
