D∆WN (A.K.A. Dawn Richard) Raises The Bar With Stunning “Titans x James Dean” Video: Watch
Putting Danity Kane out of its misery via a studio punch-up is the best thing Dawn Richard has ever done. Since then, the talented R&B diva — now known simply as D∆WN — has taken it to the next level artistically. Second LP Blackheart is her most experimental and challenging work yet, while the visuals that have accompanied the album continue to put the rest of the game to shame with their wild creativity.
Today (May 27), the 31-year-old bridges the gap between Blackheart and her next project (an EP called RedemptionHeart) by dropping a mash-up video for album interlude “Titans” and new song “James Dean.” Directed by Monty Marsh, the stunning visual combines digital effects with some old-school choreography. D∆WN and her dancers serve ’90s Janet Jackson for the first featurette, before switching to something more intimate and sexy for her new track. Watch up top.
